Every staff member is certified in CPR and Wilderness First Aid. That's in addition to our medical safety officers trained as Emergency Medical Technicians or Wilderness First Responders. Our mandatory comprehensive on-site Staff Training focuses on safety, procedures and techniques, and responses to simulated emergencies. Daily staff meetings during every program address site-specific safety issues all summer long.
3. WE OFFER BOTH SMALL & LARGE GROUPS
All our programs offer both small and large group experiences, with a strong emphasis on inter-group compatibility. We make a concerted effort to group our participants together by comparable age and maturity level in order to guarantee a comfortable experience. Founder Mike Liese spends the entire summer in the Caribbean, ensuring all programs run smoothly. We demand the highest conduct standards of our staff and expect nothing less of our teens. 8. WE FOCUS ON CONSERVATION & CULTURE
Sail Caribbean makes every effort to minimize our impact on the environment by teaching students to respect and care for the areas in which we sail, dive, and play. We practice "Leave No Trace" principles and everyone contributes to environmental service projects so that students can make environmental awareness a lasting part of their lives back home. In addition, we are proud to have a dedicated Cultural Director, Delly Harrigan, on hand to help staff and students get acquainted with every aspect of local life. An islander and lifelong resident of the Caribbean who helped found Sail Caribbean 28 years ago, he is one of the staff members that makes Sail Caribbean so special.
